We believe in transparency. Here is what you need to know about earning potential as an independent Medicare agent.

Bottom line: Launchpad Medicare does not guarantee any level of income or earnings. Individual results vary significantly based on effort, experience, market conditions, and many other factors. The information below is provided so you can make informed decisions.

Independent Contractor Status

Agents who work with Launchpad Medicare are 1099 independent contractors, not employees of Blaney Group LLC or any carrier. As an independent contractor:

  • You are responsible for your own taxes, including self-employment tax
  • You do not receive a salary, hourly wage, or employee benefits
  • You set your own hours and determine your own work schedule
  • Your income is entirely commission-based and depends on the business you produce

How Agents Get Paid

Insurance carriers pay agents directly. Launchpad Medicare does not pay agent commissions. When you enroll a client in a Medicare plan, the carrier pays you a commission based on your contracted rate with that carrier. Commission structures, amounts, and payment timing vary by carrier and product type.

Typical commission types in Medicare include:

  • Initial commissions: Paid for new enrollments during the first year
  • Renewal commissions: Paid in subsequent years when clients remain enrolled

Commission rates are set by CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) maximum guidelines for Medicare Advantage and Part D plans, and by individual carriers for Medicare Supplement plans. Rates can change from year to year.

No Income Guarantees

Any income examples, figures, or results shared on this website, in our marketing materials, or by our team members are not guarantees. They represent outcomes achieved by specific individuals under specific circumstances and should not be interpreted as typical or expected results.

Your results will depend on numerous factors including but not limited to:

  • The time and effort you invest in your business
  • Your sales skills and experience level
  • Your geographic market and competition
  • The number and quality of leads you generate or purchase
  • Your ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Carrier availability and plan competitiveness in your area
  • Regulatory changes and market conditions

Industry Reality

68%

of new insurance agents leave the industry within their first year. This is not unique to Launchpad — it is an industry-wide reality. Selling Medicare is a real business that requires real work. Agents who succeed typically invest significant time in training, lead generation, and client relationship building before seeing meaningful income.

We share this not to discourage you, but because we believe you deserve honesty before making a career decision. The agents who do well in this business are the ones who treat it like a business — not a side gig or a get-rich-quick opportunity.

Launchpad’s Role

Launchpad Medicare provides infrastructure, training, carrier access, technology, and support. We do not:

  • Guarantee leads or client volume
  • Promise specific commission rates or income levels
  • Guarantee carrier contracting approval
  • Employ agents or provide employment benefits
  • Pay commissions — carriers pay you directly

Launchpad earns override commissions from carriers based on the aggregate production of agents on our platform. This is standard in the insurance distribution industry.

Success Stories and Testimonials

Any success stories, testimonials, or case studies on our website or marketing materials represent individual experiences. These individuals may have had prior industry experience, established networks, favorable market conditions, or other advantages that contributed to their results. Their experiences are not a promise or guarantee of what you will achieve.

Your Due Diligence

Before making any decision about your career or finances based on information from Launchpad Medicare, we encourage you to:

  • Research the Medicare insurance industry independently
  • Understand the licensing and certification requirements in your state
  • Consult with a financial advisor or accountant about self-employment
  • Talk to current agents about their realistic experience
  • Have sufficient savings to support yourself during the ramp-up period
